Adam the car is now in Ontario but thanks for the offer. This is where the accident occured while wainting on transferring. Anyone familiar with Frank's Auto Body Inc. there?

The car had been picked up from the seller and was staged at the terminal in CA waiting to be loaded for delivery to me in Arkansas. Another hauler cut the corner to close and hooked the front of the car, dragged it back and across the car next to it. The part that angers me the most is that this all took place 10/11...I found out about it yesterday (I had been in touch with them several time over the past week expecting it to be delivered to me today). Now it is back and forth with whose insurance company is doing what.

"What they said... plus, I can't tell from the last pic if you need to check for curb rash or sidewall damage - is that a curb? Also check the headlight motor for possible stripped gear."

No curb so I think it is ok from there. They claim the headlights function???

Any thoughts on whether a steering rack leak and maybe loose tie rods could be caused from dragging the front end sideways for 20-30ft.?

Hopefully this goes as smooth as something like this can.

Thanks for all the notes.

Calvin

There wouldn't be any damage to the suspesion, as long the tires were only draging. If the suspesion was hit in any way, you might have bent components.

These guys are total idiots! Waited this long to report the incidet to you.

A friend of mine toured the Porsche stagging facility in South Carolina back in 94 or 95. (got some nice shots of GTS's waiting to be prep'ed )
They told him there that between 20-30% of 'brand new' Porsches get damaged in transit crossing the Atlantic. Some not so minor. He mentioned things like unsecured tools to broken tie downs...

Ahhh, now I can see that. Figures they would try and screw with the insurance (probably why they waited so long to tell you, they needed their story straight).

The rack will leak if they choose to put the tow hooks on the tie rods and pull a little. It's too easy, and what the hooks will catch on if they aren't careful.

Look for bent tie rods as telltales.
