Default a quick detailing tip

problem: the napped, felt-like. black sunroof seal gets glazed and whitened by age and the occassional (but inevitable) polish/wax overrun.

the fix: recolor it with a black, fine point Sharpie permanent marker

(tip: stay within the lines!)

I apply Mother's 'Back to Black' with a toothbrush. Works great.

Back to black works well on the black anodized window trimmings too.

I have used Magic Markers on both the sunroof felt and the gasket between the front bumper cover and the body. It lasted...........about 2 weeks. I tried Magic Markers black on the window trim, and it appeared fine for about......2 days; then it turned splotchy and streaked. I go rid of it with steel wool and plan to re-paint them with Wurth Satin Black when I feel up to it.

Then I used 3M Rubber Treatment and Tire Dressing, which is great for tires and spoilers and other rubber stuff. Leaves a matted black finish and appears new or close to it.....for about 1 month. On the sunroof felt, and on the black trim around the mirrors it lasted about 1 month. Use a q-tip land apply it to the felt and then wipe off the excess with a shop towel or terry towel I had to order 3M on the web because it was not in the stores around here in LaLa Land, California. It won't crack the rubber or appear wet and cheap, and leaves it squeaky clean. Your application rags will be ruined though as the oxidized black stuff will come off of whatever surface to which it is applied.
