Default 245/45-17 tires on the front?

I want to put 245/45-17 Yoko ES100's on my 17 x 7.5 front "cup" wheels. Will they fit in the wells without rubbing? 65 mm offset-

Thanx in advance!

I have 245/45/16s on the front on mine, albeit on 16" rims. No rubbing at all.

Those must be GTS cup wheels as I thought most 911 cup wheels were 52-55mm offsets. With the 65mm offset the tires should fit but are really too wide for the 7.5" rim. It is unlikely you will see better grip because the tires sidewalls are not well enough supported by that narrow of a wheel. I have 255/40-17s on 9" wide wheels fitted to the front of my 928, had them singing pretty well today on Red Mtn Pass I think I would stick with the 225 section tires until you get some wider wheels.

Normy,
Check Tire Rack's site for manufacturer's specifications for that size of that tire. You might be able to get away with a 235.

I have 235/45/17's in the front and 275/40/17's in the rear. That seems to be a great combination.
No rubbing, but a slightly larger radius then stock, which works well on the GT.

I have 245/40/17 fronts on an 8 inch rim, 70 mm offset. That was the biggest tire specified for that size wheel from the tire rack charts. I'm safe as hell with that much offset.

Normy, I'm running 245/40/17 Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's on the front of my GTS, with stock GTS rims. Running 255/40/17 in the rear.

Thanx for the responses! I'm interested in putting slightly wider tires on the front primarily for appearance- I love the way the 275/40-17 looks on the back, but it makes the 225 on the front look a bit narrow. Tire-rack says that a 245 section width will work on a 7.5 inch wheel, as long as the tire has at least a 45 aspect ratio. I'm just concerned about rubbing.

That has not been my experience at all, and i'm running my 245s on 7" rims in the front.
