Default MAF Mass Air Flow Failure

A post for the search/archives re: MAF failures. The 90S4 we refurbed drove into the owner's garage and was a no go the next morning.

Would start, but sputter and die. Very rough idle if it did stay running.
Unresponsive to throttle input, would just die as soon as the pedal was touched.

Checked fuel pump first, 12V fine and running.
Checked Temp sensor II, also fine.
Pulled plug on MAF and the engine fired and stayed running.

The existing MAF screen was compromised, previously had been pulled up a bit leaving a sizeable gap around the edge. Some debris may have hit the wire and caused the failure.

Replaced the MAF and she is good to go!

Hello
You mean you bought a new one ?

You can exchange your faulty one for one of my rebuilt ones from 928 International, or you can send it here. I usually work on an exchange basis.

Turnaround would be just transit time.

Regards
