Oh Andrew I really dislike Sage ....it ruins more Turkey dressing than anyone could possibly imagine. Many people think they dislike dressing when in fact they dislike SAGE ! My sausage (no sage) and mushroom dressing is a meal by itself with a bit of gravy .... is it lunch time yet ? Bayleaf is a totally different subject... Front bumper covers are rather hard to find since MOST 928 wrecks are front end wrecks! But no one else has near the inventory of new, used and rebuilt parts that we do ...no one.

Forget the kickdown bypass--get a supercharger. Then you'll want the 2nd gear start just so that you don't get too much wheelspin. Most people with S4s running 7-9 psi achieve around 400 rear wheel horsepower, which, depending on how much loss you factor into the driveline, is between 470 and 500 HP at the crank. It makes the formerly-300 chp, 3500 lb car a bit closer to spritely.

Also, because your car has the 2.20 rear end, it will not rev as fast as your 996, even though you might be accelerating just as fast. I have noticed that my 928 "sounds" slow because the revs build slowly, especially iwth a 2nd gear start, but when I check my speedo, it's hard to believe I've gone from [whatever slow speed] to [whatever fast speed] in such a short time. These cars, esp the 4 spd autos with 2.20 rears, can be deceptively fast due to the high torque/low gearing.

[Please note: I did not intend for this to develop into a) a discussion about how much power is lost in the AT box or b) the effects of gearing on torque/HP, as these topics have been thoroughly debated in other threads]

But Jim's advice is wise, get the car running right first.

And I happen to like sage in my turkey dressing...and it's what makes veal saltimboca absolutely exquisite.

Interesting I rather like Saltimbocca the Marsala wine and ham must cover up the fresh sage leaf.... I would still suggest that the S-4 be running correctly BEFORE adding a blower... the bean and rice burrito was no comparison to veal Saltimbocca !
