Started evaluating the car today after work. I didn't get to do too much but Biscuits and Pizza were a big help. I removed the seats and the carpet and the perliminary evaluation looks better than expected................ fingers crossed!
Thanks again Pizza and Abby!

Hopefully i won't have to lower my 928 flag to half mast again... I'm most worried about the electrics, as they stil below the water line.
Best of luck in restoring the beast!

That would require a different car other than the 928 all together

Well, I just about have the interior stripped out. Things actually don't look as bad as I originally thought. I am looking for advice on how to clean and treat the seats. I have them out of the car and other than the mold and mildew they appear fine. The cushions aren't water soaked. I think with a disinfecting, cleaning, possibly dyeing and condisioning they could be saved so........ 1st step how to kill the germs, mold and mildew?

One way is a bleach solution, but I don't know how the leather and fabric will like that. The general recipe for bleach solution is 1 cup of bleach in 1 gallon of water. Spry, scrub, wipe clean. This is usually for hard surfaces, so I don't know how well it'll work on foam, carpet, leather, etc.

I know what it's like to be challenged to rebuild a salvaged 928, & since I've done it (similar condition but with front end damage needing new front clip), I certainly would not do it again. I learned a lot, but the time & money lost doing so was disproportionate to a HUGE degree.
I spent about 40k, got about 13k out of it when it sold.

I don't know whether bleach or ammonia would be better for the leather, but I'd recommend replacing the foam if water sat in it for any period of time. I doubt the car will ever smell right if the foam got soaked.
Nicole is right about the computers. You should pull them and clean the circuit boards in them if water got into them.
The good news is that you already had the car stripped for painting, so it's just water cleanup added to the already planned work.

don't let the cheerleaders get you too pumped up about fixing your car you make a big mistake. do a serious cost analysis before proceeding. sorry to sound so negative, but it's a huge waste of $$$ and time imho and i don't think people here are helping you make a wise decision. like someone said, that car will never smell right and will probably forever have electrical problems. cut your losses and buy a differenct car.
