SW Stereo Specialists WWW.SWstero.Com has a 928 specific stereo plug in wiring harness, etc. Give them a call if you are looking to upgrade.

I have no affiliation with them, just know 928 and they support 928ers, and the 928 Frenzy.

Regards,
JE

Tib,
Seems likley that 2 & 5 may need to be swapped.

6 seems like its the variable illumination - check - in the dark put the lights on
and see if the illumination on the radio varies with the dash illumination
seems it probably does in which case this is correctly connected.

Do your 3 & 4 go to the main amp as a trigger also? or does 2 go there also (either should work - except that with 2 the amp is always on even if the radio is off when you are driving or have accessory on - probably not a big deal...

The head unit and the wiring to the head unit and the wiring harness were not changed for the upgrade. The din to din connector between the head unit and amp was replaced with RCA leads to the amp. The only wiring adjustment was the joining of the switched and constant hot at the old amp location. I believe the wiring conforms to what I saw in the FSM.

In my exhaustive testing tonight I verified the #2 wire is switched on and off with the ignition. Along the way the turning off when the ignition switch was turned off worked when I had the test lead inserted into the switched wire in the back of the connector at the head unit. When it worked the radio went off with the ignition and went on with the ignition. Then it would stop working.

I wonder if the head unit got zapped so as to no longer know to shut off with the ignition off. I think the head unit is flaky or maybe the voltage is not quite right. I'll take another stab with my multimeter tomorrow.

Talking Update - Fixed

Turns out the female connector in the plastic connector for the accessory switched wire at the head unit was not making good contact to the head unit. I adjusted the harness connector and the functionality returned.

Thanks to everyone who posted.
