Default Would you own a 928 IF....

There were NO sites like this one, and you had to go to a Dealer to find parts?

I would have never purchased the project car I'm working on now...never would have purchased the E30 BMWs...

Sure.

I bought my project car not knowing about Rennlist or the Large Triumverate or that I'd never buy a part from the dealer.

However, it would be sitting deralict in the garage without the email list.

Even the Ferrari guys have sites helping them circumvent the dealership trap. If there's a will there's a way.

Knowing what I know now about owning a 928, I shouldn't have bought my car the way I did some 6 plus years ago. I'm glad I did though. And I'm glad a stuck through the frustrating times. At least until the next frustrating time...This site, the Big 3 and the other suppliers that have been jumping in have been helping a lot.

I too bought mine before I knew of Rennlist. Not sure where I would be without the " list ". I am certian the car would not be in as good as shape as it is now.

Absolutely!

When I bought my first Porsche in 1992 there was nothing like Rennlist available. I still wouldn't change my decision to buy and drive Porsche only!

The only site I was aware of prior to buying mine was 928s4vr, it is how I knew I wanted an '86. However I should have read it more thoroughly before choosing. I missed the part about early 86 vs. 86.5, when I found the Rennlist mailing list I got educated.

I found Rennlist about a week before buying my first Porsche. I would have bought it anyway, but I probably wouldn't have wanted to keep it very long if I hadn't gotten all the help I got from here. The wealth of knowledge here is astounding!

I bought my 928 9 years ago - well before rennlist existed.

The car is what sold me, not rennlist. That said, rennlist has made my ownership that much more enjoyable!

Don't think I'd still have my 928 without Rennlist. I still would have purchased it....but I don't think I'd still have it.

I would be w/o a 928 if it weren't for rennlist. I bought my first , an '82 5 spd, a few weeks before I found the list. I'm a novice mechanic and w/o the list, I didn't have the expertise to do the repairs myself. The people on this site are an incredible resource and the folks I've met/done business with have been a joy to interact with.

Well your story is a little different than most of us... I think if I had had a similar meltdown, I would have walked away. Kudos to you.

If I had known about rennlist I probably would NOT have bought my most recent shark.

But I still would have gotten a shark, just probably a different one.

Bought my first one before knowing about this great forum.
Propably would not have bought my GT without the knowledge built up hanging here

Cheers/Peter
