Default pacnw, help please!!!!!!!!!!

Hello all, I have been away for awhile because I was sick and now my shark is having a dilemna Went to work last night car ran great. After finishing up this morning went to start the car and it fired up for a second and it kind of sounded like a slight backfire?? Needless to say it would not start Smelled back at exhaust and it smelled like raw fuel so I figured it was flooded eventually it did start but stumbled ,wouldn't idle but would run above 3krpm and it really got warm fast so I am looking for any and all suggestions??? Any help is greatly appreciated TIA AL I am confused??????????

I would GUESS that the timing belt lost timing possibly at the back fire. It is quite possible that the water pump bearings seized and the pump is not turning causing the rapid heatup and cam timing issue. Call me for some things to check (714) 632-9288

Jim is likely 100% correct. Seized water pump. The tidbit about the heating up helps ...

ablose58... that'd be my guess, too, without further
symptoms/evidence.

G'luck.

Talked to All this evening and its the exhaust that got hot. ( burning fuel in exhaust)

Have him looking for dislodged intake boots or large vacum hoses that may have come off.

Thanks all After scouring around the fuel injection components I discovered the problem and I really feel like homer simpson"DOH'", seems that when the engine hicuuped a 50 cent cap plug blew off from down near the intake base, didn't have one so I used a hose with a bolt shoved in the end and now it fires off every time with a click of the key, man am I relieved!!!! Thanks again for all your inputs , when I see you all I'll buy ya all a brewsky
