Default Anchor Industries Motor Mounts

I was reading on the 928 International repair link that Anchor industries makes a engine mount #2698 that is a Ford truck part but is commonly used on 928's.
The part is only $30.00 vs. the $210.00 for the Porsche part.
Has anyone installed these on a 85/86S model ?

Thanks in advance

If you look back in the archives and search for "Anchor" you'll find some have had them break but mine have been good for years now. The solid ones are great. Porsche ones are liquid-filled which leak and are worthless after a time.

I put them in 2 weeks ago. FYI, you will need new non metric nuts if you use American made Anchors. I understand some of the Anchors are made in India. I assume those are metric. I ordered from Rock Auto, about $70 shipped. I'm a satisfied customer.

$210 for the Porsche part? I thought they were much more than that, they're about double that here. There are lots of reports here of people doing this job recently, as far as I can remember no one has used the Porsche parts.

I just did this job twice in the last 3 weeks, one on an 85, one on an 86.5...

I ordered 2 sets of MM from Rock Auto. One set was US made, one from India. I liked the Indian set best FWIW (US set has a square shoulder at the base of the top stud making it not fit flush against the MM carrier) Price was the same though. Another lister has a commercial account with PEP boys, he can get them for ~$19 each. Maybe he can organize a group buy.

Oldtee and I did his car in roughly 4ish hours, lots of swearing, lots of cleaning was involved.

We supply a replacement motor mount and include the metric Grade 8.8 nuts for $79. Our mounts are not made in India - there are problems with quality on those mounts.

Our customers are pleased with them. Many installs.

Here is the catalog page:

Hi Carl,

thanks. It's a no brainer for me. I'll purchase your units over the Anchor's.
The price difference is only $15.00.

You will see my order soon.

Thanks to all other R-list members for the good info.

You gotta love this board!! I can almost afford to maintain my 928 with all the cost saving tips.

Nothing wrong with Carl's units but they look identical to the Anchor units.
Rockauto's are $24 each x2 = $48 plus $2 for the grade 8 nuts from Lowes.
Shipping was $9 so thats $60 V Carl's $94.
Still $34 to support one of the Big 4 is OK as well.

I have done a total of six cars now with no issues.
