Luckily it doesn't matter whether it's summer or winter, I can work on the car in relative comfort now at any time of year - yippee!

Sadly going to France this weekend, so won't be at Tilford, didn't realise that was the date of the Tilford meet when I booked the crossing some time ago. Is there a separate autojumble I'm missing too? Going to Stroud to pick up some used Bilsteins in two weeks time, should be interesting.

Any news on your oil leak or your lift yet?

Same thing happened to me. Rock Auto sent two different mounts: different locating pin positions. I was all worried and I ordered two more. I finally go two out of the four which had locating pin on the bottom, and sent back the other two.
In retrospect I don't think the pins matter very much at all. When you assemble the mounts in their cages you will cut off any pin on top and torque down the top nut big time. The bottom pin IMO prevents spinning when you finally torque the bottom nut in position in the crossmember. I don't really think that the mount will spin if all else is really tight. I used a lock washer on the bottom nut also IIRC.
When you look at the OEM Porsche mount you will see that they are beautifully designed to fit the cages where they go. The top cage has an oblong hole to receive a boss on the top of the mount, again to prevent spinning. The bottom pin on the Porsche mount is much more substantial. The Anchors, however do fit and seem to do the job. Mine are only a few months old and a huge improvement. Others have had long-lasting good results.
In summary: pin on bottom -OK, pin on top -cut off, no pins at all -probably OK.

I'm buying my second set from Carl now, I do modify them slightly so that they do the job exactly how the Porsche ones do. I cut off the big bottom lugs off the originals and offset drill them with 5 mm bit. Knock them onto the new mounts with a hammer and your done on the bottom. As for the top, carefully line up the bottom pin and again drill a 5 mm hole in the engine mount bracket. This will stop it from turning. That hole them preforms the exact same function as the top of the Porsche mount. Takes a bit over half an hour but I think worth it.

Carl,

no problem-glad to support the community. I don't think any one of us could contact Rock auto or Pep boys for tech info or advice on motormounts or any other 928 related issues. The 34 smackers is well worth it.
