I have an 82(s) that starts great(1st try) when its cold, but once the car has warmed up, if I shut it down, it takes like 1+hrs of sitting before it will start. Relays are good, fuel pump works(makes noise), I just replaced ignition switch. Is it a part called the warm-up regulator? If so ware is the warm up regulator? If any one out there has any ideas-they would be appreciated .

Leaky injectors.
After sitting for a while, the excess fuel evaporates and the car starts fine.
If you turn it off, then restart fairly soon, it is, in effect, flooded.

Todd;
Sounds like the fuel pump check valve not holding line pressure (located at output end of fuel pump)... the valve is fairly cheap.
Car starts cold due to cold start valve pumping the required fuel, but is taken out of loop once car is warmed, or after 7 seconds of cranking (to avoid flooding).

Actually, here are the symptoms I had with my leaky injector(s) - pretty typical from what I hear:
The car would start just fine cold. (Leaked fuel had evaporated.)
It would also start just fine if I turned it off, then immediately re-started it. (Not enough time yet for enough fuel to leak to flood the car.)
It would require all sorts of cranking and flooring the gas pedal if I waited any more than a couple of minutes before re-starting. (By then, enough fuel had leaked to flood the car.)
If I waited a couple of hours - enough time for the fuel to evaporate - it started fine again.

Need info on model, year please. CIS has different problems from L and Lh injection. There is a pressure accumulator in front of rr wheel , under cover. Some have a small screw in upper end, others a breather pipe going back to tank. check for fuel smell or wetness in breather, or loosen screw and check smell, fuel - if so, accumulator is leaking, losing pressure after shutdown, allowing a vapour lock to develop, preventing hot starts. If this is ok, go to pump check valve next. Also some CIS have a solenoid operated valve on RHS between 3 and 4 (IIRC?) - if this leaks hot starts can be affected. If hot power and running is OK, unlikely to warm up reg, which is on front of engine above thermostat housing. Could also be a leaking injector flooding chambers, but unlikely all cylinders affected and totally preventing a start - check for gas smell at exhaust when trying to start hot. A bad/leaking fuel distributor on CIS might leak to injectors though?

Assuming you have a european delivery 1982 S you have CIS injection which works off fuel pressure alone no brains no electronic injection. The warmup regulator control pressure regulator is mounted to the thermostat housing ...two fuel lines one vacuum and an electric connector. Your car starts cold because the cold start injector a ninth injector sprays in fuel and lights the fire. Much has been discussed on this forum about the CIS as used on the USA 78-79 and euro until 1983.
