Default Recent engine pull on a S4

I have 3 protective plates or heat sheilds and a long black painted heavy guage piece that looks simular to a shoe horn that I can't find a home for. As I recall, the long black piece was on the drivers side somewhere near the exhaust manifold and at least one of the heat sheilds bolted onto it. I have searched the PET as well as the WSM and can't find them in either place. I took this car apart 18 months ago and now I have difficulty remembering where things go after aweek, let alone 78 weeks. Any help is always appreciated and photo's are welcome.
TIA, Terry

I doubt I have ever done a significant job on a motor vehicle that there were not a few left over parts that never made it back on - unless I came up short on parts.

Not sure on the S4, but since I just did pan gasket, the piece in photo, bottom center, the bolt spacing looks like it was attached on the oil pan. Just a guess.

Can't recognize any of them so they are probably only used in automatic gearbox cars. If they were from manual gearbox car should have seen them as just about all shields are off car now.

Hi these parts are for a 944 Turbo motor, the black piece holds on next the oil fill/seperator the 2 holes attach on just above the oil pan gasket to the block and the top screws attach to the intake manifold, the 2 pieces next to it also attach onto the left side of the block and black support , with the one in the picture at the furthest right going on the left side of the block where the exhaust crossover passes near the oil pan gasket , and the smaller one in the picture on the bottom goes on the right side of the block for the oil pan gasket heat protection from exhaust

One of the best pieces of advice I was given on Rennlist when repairing my engine was to bag and tag everything. As I was working on the street and could only store parts in the back of the car this advice was even more pertinent. It was over four months before it was all back together, and without this advice I'm sure it would have taken even longer.
