Question Head Gasket Torque

Hey. I probably anooyed most of people in this forums with my questions, so I will cut to the subject.
I have heads from M28/03 engine being installed on the M28/19 block. In the WSm it says to torques the heads in 3 steps:14fp, 31fp, 61fp. But in the same table it says that fo later engines(later then M28/18) you need to torques the head as: 14.5fp, 31.5fp, 64.5fp.

So, which one do I use?

Thanks,

Klim
P.S. Yeah and the problem also lies in that torques wrench doesn't lock on halfs, it only locks in whole numbers. And I searched most of the shops around here and this one supposed to be the most accurate one. How important are .5 of foot pund?

Is the difference significant? In the grand scheme of things - probably not.

Round it up or down, Half a foot pound doesn't matter.

The torque method is also tied to the gasket material. Some people swear by one or the other. I like straight torques as I re-torue the heads several times and using torque values makes that easy. That is, every 12 to 24 hours back the nut off 1/8 turn and then re-click. It'll be a bit tighter each time.

You might search on this as it is debated every couple of months.

Cool. Thanks for the answer. But what torque use for the last step: 61fp or 64fp?

Thanks,

Klim

85Nm which is 62.7ft-lbs so I'd go 63.
