Size of hex key for tranny. plugs????

I'm confused, I am sure I used a 10mm Allen Key to remove mine a few weeks ago. I also remember the exhaust been a little close making a hex socket awkward (although I had a 3/8" to 1/2" converter on the ratchet as well).
