I just picked up a Euro pulley that mounts in place of the air pump (for earlier cars).

Just to add for anyone that may find the thread in the future though-- the air pump just adds air/oxygen to either the converter directly, or to the exhaust port in the head to provide for additional burning of fuel particles and enhanced catalyst operation/reduced emissions.

If you are in a location where you are required to have emmissions intact, but have somehow 'lost' your converters , you could use OEM parts to direct the air from the diverter valve to the air box. Some cars were set up that way.

Great,

where did you purchase the euro pulley?
Also how much was it if you don't mind.

Thanks Rich

Why do you not remove all the accessory belts and start the car; that way you'll confirm the noise (hopefully) is from the a/c compressor, the alternator, the power steering pump.........or not.

You may also consider removing the passenger side timing belt cover and check the belt etc..........if the problem is coming from there get the car back to where they changed the belt/WP ASAP with no further restarts

Good luck
