Default 90GT cruise control fix- easy one

Slowly working down the 'to-do' list on my car and it was time to look at the cruise control that hasn't worked since I bought it. Looked at the WSM and the Nichols site for troubleshooting.

First step is to find the CC brain after insuring the fuse is ok. Based on all the info I had, the brain is supposed to be under the center console and near the firewall. It's not there. I figured the PO removed it when it stopped working. But I can't find the wiring harnesses either which is strange. After much head scratching and searching, I find the little silver CC box under the left driver's side footrest. Harness is there too, unplugged. I did the WSM testing on the plug with my multi-meter, all tests ok. Plug in the harness, take it for a ride. IT WORKS!!. Easiest fix done to date, find it and plug it in.

Is there anything in the WSM or other literature that says the CC brain is located under the footrest for my model 928?

Yes, it's in there somewhere. You 90 model has the airbag controller in the location of the CC. Since the airbag controller takes the space for the CC, it was relocated to the driver fooltwell where you found it. There is a lae revision(89?) to the WSM that discusses this but I can't point you exactly to it.
