Brett, being an 86 Euro I guess it has an 87+ exhaust with the exception of the cat (see PET5 illustration 202-25). 84-85 Euros have an oval muffler or resonator in the normal cat position, a mid-muffler or resonator in front of the driver's (left) wheel, and a rear kidney shaped muffler behind the driver's (left) wheel (see PET5 illustration 202-15).

One of the very few times I've been stopped was in N Wales, just as I reached Welshpool on the way back to London.

I had been going fairly swiftly before I reached the urban speed limit, which I observed fastidiously, and it still took him some time to catch me up, as I remembered seeing him several miles earlier but not realising he was a traffic cop. The very nice bobby (in an unmarked car) said how much he liked the 928, told me to be very careful with all the Bank Holiday Monday motorbikes, and sent me on my way, without even issuing a producer.
