Default cleaning tranny insides

what solution are you suppose to use while cleaning the gears and spacers from the transmission. i building my spare tranny to sell or leave on the shelf just incase i break the one inside the car. i'm doing this assembly myself. the other one i paid a tranny shop to rebuilt for me. its tough. right now i have all the parts laid out on the table. then i'm gonna clean them up and label the parts that can be mistaken for another different sized part. like the shim with the "x" and the shim with the "y". anyway along with the cleaning solution. what r the must have tools when assembly the gearbox. i know i dont have a press. so i''ll have to get my tranny guy to do that? i will be takening lots of pics as promise. b4 on my last tranny install. but i got antsy and wanted to drive my shark.
