New Carpets---what are my options?
Still looking to keep the 1984 S (A/T) as a fairly budget vehicle. The interior carpets are 1/2 factory, 1/2 roll-your-own (slightly thinner material but a good color match) as it stands now. Some wear in places, and one of the roll-your-own has a large hole in the center.
I can use them (and good mats) to make the car look acceptable (especially since I used the Jumbo ($5) washer in the middle of the night to clean them well...
However, I am also looking at other options--replacement carpet, maybe more Roll-your-own?
Any recommendations?
Thanks!!

"Did you get that car running yet?"--Nope
A trip to Chicago (and back, towing a 1987 325es that will go to my Brother--at $300 for a running car in nice shape, I thought it worth the hassles), and other stuff have precluded my working significantly on the 928--
I did order a new fuse/relay panel (I repaired the melted wiring in mine, but will keep it as a backup), and a few other items that will help with the repair--be a few days before the panel gets here, and I have been spending the odd moments cleaning grounds/contacts, etc. (still can't find a few of them), removing the bit of rust in the battery box, etc.
Once the new panel goes into place, I will start seriously troubleshooting the starting issue (the car did run fine until I went to pick it up... ). However, I am thinking (more and more) that it was either a ground or an Alarm issue--by cleaning the grounds and bypassing the alarm, I'll get a start on the issue.
The good news is it looks like I'll have all of Labor Day weekend to work on it--the 1991 318is I am also playing with has all the parts ready to go on (the oil leak is from the upper oil pan gasket--the PO tore it on installing and caused the leak), and the rest of the stuff is minor (small crack in CV boot and Steering Boot) that I need to get done.
Thanks!!

Drifting
I contacted 2 places ordered from one and got a sample from the other. Had to return it. The stuff was terrible. It was supposedly the sliverknit. Well it didn't come close to my factory originals.
Good Luck.

Do a search on the forum, there are a couple of places out there if you are OK with non OEM silverknit and peoples experience is favorable depending on what you are looking for.
If OEM is your cup of tea then DR has the goods.
