Dave , did the 924 vent tube worked ? i read this post searching for a solution for a similar problem with my car. I replaced my breather hose by two separate hoses , one for the coolant and one for oil vapors but i think it was wrong because water due to condensation is staying at the bottom of the airbox coming from the hose (oil) and everytime i start the engine after a long cooldown that water goes directly in the throttle body, (if you look well yours is probably like mine , the hose is connecting under the oil filter ) Please tell me how it worked and how it looks.
Thank's

Wow, I seem to be on a zombie thread roll today...
I've also discovered a problem with this hose on my non-running OB rescue project. What caught my eye:
Then looks what I found:
Quite the unexpected surprise:
And a picture of the entire .. carefully engineered fix .. that I now need to set right:
I'd be very interested in either locating a usable original hose in "driver" condition, not show quality. I bought this car to have fun with. Or any information on the current version of a work-round to replace it.
What I do find a bit ironic is the mention of later 928 models having a version of this hose with just a small air passage, using part of the hose to trap condensation. It appears that the 19mm socket has been functioning in just this manner on the bodge I found in my car. It looks like only oil vapor had been getting to the fire trap on the air-box.
That said, I'm sure a version without electrical tape, an ill-fitting socket, and hose clamps in less than ideal positions, which I'm sure made for quite a vacuum leak on the breather hose, would be a much better solution.
