Default Silly Relay Question

Sorry to be a pain guys. Is it normal for relays to get warm? My elec fan relay gets warm when the fan is running. Am I facing a more serious issue? Or is this normal? Don't smell anything burning...

Thanks

Brian,
Yes - warm. Relay coils are about 100-200mA when activated so for one thats constantly on @ 12v thats more than 1W dissipated - maybe more than 2W. Given most relays are not in any airflow they will get warm - shouldn't get too hot to touch though.

Thanks Alan. The relay is warm, but not so warm that I couldn't keep my finger on it for a period of time. The relay is working and I never had a problem with the fan before, but I never noticed that it got warm to the touch (probably because I wasn't paying attention). A blown fuse made me sit up and pay attention, but truth be told, the fuse that blew was in there for quite some time, so maybe it was just time to die...
