I was surprised to find that JC Whitney has H4 halogens that are designed to be direct replacements for sealed beams in the following wattages. 130/90, 100/80, 60/55 . The prices range from 37.99 each to 32.99 each. H4's are supposed to be illegal in the US for on road usage because of their higher output. But I'm sure if you used a little lower wattage than the max you could probably get away without any problems. JC Whitney stock numbers are wh139301 for the 130/90's change the last digit to a 2 or 3 for the other wattages.
By the way, I have no affiliation with JC Whitney. I just saw this and thought someone could save a little moolah.

These are the 7 inch replacement for the 7 inch seal beam units used on USA 78-86 car and NOT the big flat 8 Inch 928 headlights used on Euro cars or the similar looking 87-95 model 8 inch H-5. With the 130/90 bulbs these little lights are quite bright compared to the anemic US mandated sealed beam lights. It is a cheap upgrade if you do not mind having that chromed plastic trim ring around the headlight. It also give you greater choices of bulbs since any H-4 bulb will fit the lens reflector assembly.

Jim is always so helpfull. Whata guy. Since I already have that POS little chrome ring on my puny little original lights, I think these would be great for me. Thanks for the info Jim.

After re-reading my above post I thought that it may be possible to misunderstand it as sarcastic. That was not my intention at all. I am sincere in my thanks Jim.

I also did not really notice that much difference in the brightness over the stock lights other than the top cutoff of the beam being more dramatic. Or at least I was hoping it would be more noticeable of a difference. Course my stock bulbs were very anemic at best. I am guessing without looking that my H4 bulbs are the lower output ones.
I thought of trying to go with the higher output bulbs but thought I had read on here previously that there was a concern of wiring/relays, unless you made changes there too?

Though more wattage is better, the pattern the lens throws is more important than the wattage of the bulbs. Marchals and Cibies are getting impossible to find. I liked the 7" Hellas I had on my 911.
It is, or used to be, possible to get yellow tinted bulbs. Easy on the night vision. Very helpful in the fog.
