Default HUGE DELIMA!! 4-Sale or not 4-Sale??

Well, I may be selling my 86.5 Shark (maybe). I love the car so it'll be hard to sacrifice I have to say it's the nicest, cleanest I've seen to date (up close).

I may have found an 88, which is what I've wanted because it's the year I joined the Air Force I know I'll kick myself later, but there's an added benefit for me.

If anyone knows someone that's looking for an 86.5, please PM me. It's up to date for maintenance. I'm looking to get $11,000.

Huge dilemma.

Going from a known entity to an unknown entity.

Are you changing from auto to manual transmission?

Just wondering if there are any reasons other than color and nostalgia....

James,

I know, I know

This is my 3rd 928 and I didn't have a clue there was an 86.5 when I found it.
As mentioned, it's just a "Sentimental" thing I guess I could wait until 2008 and get an 88 for my 20 years Anniverary

There are some thing's I need to take care of also, so there could be a short, short void without a Shark

Great advice Andrew. Are you planning to follow it? How come your 82 is not listed on Rennlist? You have a nice ride, as does Darien, so what's in your future?

Sorry to highjack your post Darien but Andrew is spot on. Once the barn is empty it's hard t refill it. a thousand things get in the way of that next Shark. I made that mistake years ago, never again.

Darien, wouldn't dream of it. I agree with Andrew. Buy mine first, while you can, then sell yours. That way you're never Sharkless. There is a thousand ways to get there.

I'm going to look at a very promising 89 S4 in a couple of weeks. Some people here already know the car, but I'm not disclosing it until the deal is done. I have a few things I think want to switch over from my car to the new one (i.e. H4's, maybe wheels). Once that task is complete it'll be listed on rennlist. But I made sure I told the wife that I could not sell it until I bought the new one.

The bug on the other had is currently on Ebay. That was just a summer fun thing that is turning out to be more of a strain ont he marriage than I had predicted. Oh well, very little emotional attachment there.

BTDT. For a period of 2-3 months i had 2 silver S4s in the garage. They both went up on jack stands and I swapped all the money i had into one car and placed it on the other. Axles, GTS brakes, alternators, steering pumps, Anything that i had replaced as far as major parts was swapped...coilovers...rims..
As petty as it may appear, parts arent cheap and i wasnt about to let it go with all the money i had sunk into it over 2yrs of ownership. The parts the went on the sold car were still in great shape and i had the records when they were replaced as well...one set of parts were newer than the other...and i had paid for them.

"hon..i have to have the other one before i sell this one. Ive got way to much money in parts, wheels..brakes etc etc to let it go. I would only end up replacing them all again.

Thats was my line...the truth as well
