Default Bouncing Revs at start up

Today I drove the 928 about 250 miles (mostly highway, mountains) in 100 degree heat, When I returned into town I stopped for 10 mins.

When I started the car the revs "bounced" from 300-800 and the !warning! light was flashing. I was going to shut it off but then everything was ok. The temp was at the halfway mark.

The car ran fine back home so I turned off the car waiting about 5 minutes and tried to start it again. The car started for a second and stalled, I tried again and it did the same thing as the first time with bouncing revs. I shut it down and decided to post.

Any thoughts?

James vacuum leaks sounds like a good start...but I once had this issue with my 996C4 and it turned out to be a easily fixed MAF problem (quick cleaning). Not that this could be the same issue on the 928 but it may be something to look into.

Hot start and idle after hot start problems can be caused by a MAS on the way out.

Let it cool with the hood open for 20 minutes or so. I'll bet it will start.
