Hey all,
I have some leftover leather (linen in color) from the seats and doorpanels. I've been needing a shiftboot forever now and wanted to give anyone here that can make it, a chance to do so. My car is an auto, and I want to retain the shiftplate. BUT, I don't want to keep the slider piece. I would just buy one from somewhere. But because I already have the leather that is in the car, I want it to match exactly.
Thanks,
Chris
Making a shifter boot is pretty simple. Any tailor shop should be able to make one. All you need to do is brinkg then the old one and they can copy the pattern. 2 years ago I made one for my '85 using vinyl. I did it the old fashioned way, by hand. To my suprise it turned out to be pretty good. Since I was able to make one withouth any real knowlage of sewing for a proressional at a taylor shop should be able to make a copy for you withouht any problem.
