Default Need Help Identifying This Part.. (Pics)

928.618.418.00, It's a silver metal box with a couple of plugs connected to one side and a black large connector type cylinder on the opposit side. It,s located under the rear hatch release switch on the passenger side.

I went to change the rear hatch switch an noticed that the cap to the "black large connector type cylinder" was not secured. Is there supposed to be any loose parts under this cap?

PET identifies it simply as "control unit".

I believe its the control unit for the cooling flaps. It determines the position of the flaps with inputs from the temp sensors then open or closes the flaps accordingly.
