fuel rail mounting?

fuel rail mounting?
In a related forthcoming episode, my fuel rail mounts are of the type that have a rubber cushion between the "studs"; somewhat like the vibration isolators holding the stock airbox in place.
One of the studs going into the intake manifold, and the other to the rail, all of 'em have separatted from the rubber, so I placed an order for new ones, and I've been told these aren't correct! That they are supposed to be just studs.
Yet, my intake manifold is machined to accept the diameter of these isolator type of mounts.
Anyone know what's what, or what I need to do? Parts are accumulating, and the reassembly is getting MUCH closer! Studs and fuel lines, and I get to start working! Should I get a pic of the mount point posted? Maybe with what's left over of a mount stud I managed to find?

My fuel rails are solid mounted to the studs--no rubber cushions. I have an '89, so I don't know if there were any design changes along the way. I am pretty sure I was the first to remove them on my car after looking at the old service records, so pretty confident that was it from the factory.
Hope that helps.

My are like Jim describes. The injectors are mounted in rubber both top and bottom so there should be no need to isolate the rails drom the manifold. When you reinstall. There are several methods to install the injectors. Having tried two of them, I recommend that you insert the injectors in to the rail, and attach the clips that hold them in place, first. Then line up the injectors with the ports and carefully but firmly seat the 4 injectors in the ports, by applying pressute evenly on the rail. I tried inserting the injectors in the intake ports first and found that they can seat deeper than they need to, which ment I had to lift them up a bit to have them seat properly in the rail, before I could get all the clips to attach correctly. Use a lubricant like grease on the orings, but use it sparingly.
