The sunroof of my recently purchased 82 is not closing all the way on the passenger side, nor is it sealing in the back. There is a 1/4 gap on the right side, the back of the unit has almost 1' gap. It was working when it was purchased. What I supect is the rear is not pushing the rear of the sun roof up to make the seal. I would love any help anyone can provide.

 

This is typical of a sunroof cable failure. The fail at the little plastic end that connects the cable to the hardware on the sunroof. Sounds like the passenger side cable is kaput. If one is broken, the other is probably not far behind. I would change them both. The big 3 carry them.

I just happen to have an extra set of cables I need to get rid of. Left and right side. New, in the bag 40.00 +shipping

I just went through that with mine. While you are there, order new plastic slides for the shoes, and take everything out and clean it with simple green or orange cleaner. I learned all of this the hard way. It would not work until I cleaned everything.
