Sorry to be so 'forward' man, but your car has been an inspiration in many ways for mine. I used to enjoy reading your race reports and stuff, but that's kinda ancient history now. The 928 track car site is down, is there any other online sources featuring your car? What have you been up to lately?

Cheers,
Pierre.

Pierre, Don has been riding donkeys backwards with a blindfold lately to pass his time. When he is not doing that he is scratching his nuts on beach with Corona beer in hand watching waves lap on a Mexican Shore somewhere.

Seems the Gnarly1 will be ready to race again this month perhaps and we shall again soon have the pleasure of his 928 race reports.

Dunno the man from a bar of soap, but I've seen the odd pic of him on the net. Strikes me as an old hippie, cool fella. It's his car and race reports I'm after when his finished with them mexican donkeys...

I have navigated a few times for Don in Open Road races, and yes, he is very laid back. I half expected him to turn on the radio as we cruised at 160MPH. Don, give me a yell if you read this, we need to catch up. Woody

Hey, I am still out here, finally with a running-again racer, but with a bit of work left before I can get back on the track. Still to do is to; (1) finish my intake system: final fabrication of the airboxes and some hood modification (2)Re-work my brakes..the big reds are now "big browns" having been un-touched except for rotor, pads and fluid for two full seasons. All new brake lines and full rebuild of the calipers shall be done before I can get safely back to racing with another 150 hp.(3) I am replacing my hatch with a light one, also remounting the rear wing and moving the lexan in the hatch to mount flush with the body rather than down in that hole in the hatch. That should really be a nice improvment in aerodynamics as the air leaves the car at th rear..toying with some underside diffusers, too..but those can wait. (4) I have a new revised front splitter to finish also (5) Then there are many smaller "details"...holes to fill, radios to mount, the Motec controller needs a home, the belts need replaced, etc etc.
Hoping to finish up fairly soon and get back to racing...I am sure my first "race reports" will be interesting, what with all the new stuff I will be dealing with, but the suspension and running gear is unchanged..so I'll only have to 'adjust' for extra hp, some weight reduction, and hopefully a bit different aero balance at high speeds...Can't wait...

It's the little things in life that make it fun. Glad to hear you have plans for a few weekends.
Have fun, Woody

Hi Don,

When is your next event ? Can you make it to Laguna Seca with POC Aug 26? Love to see photos of your engine mod!
