Default Albrex supercharger kit

Does anyone have info on the Albrex s/c kit ? In particular the signal that is required to drive the black box that triggers the 9th injector ...

This is a potted up assembly in a case case marked "Albert Injection".

Any knowledge appreciated ! Would save me a few hours work !

Regards

Hi John,

Here's some pictures of the boost sensing unit, it has telephone number printed on the backside, I'm not sure if its still good or not since its quite old. It has 2 red wires exiting the unit, however I'm not sure where they lead to yet...

The black "Albert" electronic box on my car looks to have some different colored wires than what you are describing. I haven't had the time to chase and identify what each one does, but it looks like there's 2 pair of red, green, black wires running into the box. I can only guess the 2 red wires lead to the boost unit - but I'm NOT positive..

If your missing the boost sensor, I don't think it's that big of a deal. You can by-pass that function by running an adjustable fuel pressure regulator in place of it. The stock injectors should be adequate enough under boost (assuming this is an '87 and later engine with the stock 24lbs. injectors). This Albrex charger will only make about 6 to 7 psi of boost maximum (observed from the boost guage on my engine). However, I would strongly recommend installing some type of air-fuel ratio meter to tell exactly how the engine operating under boost/load. You can always add larger injectors later if the existing ones are not flowing enough fuel.

Just FYI, here's a link to my previous post on my Albrex charger.

Hi Bill,
Many thanks for your info. It appears that your version is somewhat different to the one we have here.
Your electronics box has 2 off 4 way connectors going to it. ours has a single 6 way copnnector.

In your setup, is the red connector the one going to the boost sensor ? Do you have any tech info on the boost sensor ? Albrex are not in business anymore, although one of the tech people still is involved he is very difficult to contact.

I think standard S4 and later injectors are 19lb, aren't they ?

We can remap the LH ECU if required, but we still require more peak fuel flow so will use RRFPR or larger injectors.

We have a TechEdge WBO2 kit, so will definitely follow your advice !

Thanks for your help so far.

I think the only stock 24lb injectors are the ones found on the 85-86 US 32V engines.

Thanks Imo000, that's what I thought as well. I think that these may be also the same rating 24lb as the Euro S2 which was the subject of a recent thread, but I don't have firm info on this proposition.

We may take Bill's advice and ditch the 9th injector, fit Euro S2 injectors and then remap the LH.
