It will probably be next week before I'll have a chance to duplicate the run. Based on the '85 owners manual 3000 rpm in 5th = 100 MPH and 3500 rpm = 120. I'll pay more attention to the speedo / Tach next time, between piloting, watching the ARM1, the speedo and the tach in a fixed period of road I may have miss quoted the 120 number or 3,500 rpm, but the bottom line is I have a stall condition in or around that area where the engine is making about 160 HP from the full power curves of the manual and I'm trying to find out why.

Like Jim indicates the acceleration curve in the manual shows shift pattern into 5th @ 135 MPH to top end so it is basically a highway overdrive gear.

3000 rpm = 107 MPH on my spedo in 5th
