I can confirm that the car still exists, is in the Dripping Springs shop, and was ALMOST ready for action on the Marble Falls weekend.

I also witnessed Donald's amazing patience in dealing with the situation.

Noone should be sharkless this long, hope it's back on the road soon!

Jeez, I hope the person working on his car in Dripping Springs is not the same person who was working on the two 928s that I got from Dripping Springs, Some yahoo had used electrical tape wrapped around the tensioner arm shoulder bolt, Probably worked really good for about 15 minutes until the electrical tape heated up, got soft , and allowed the tensioner arm to wobble. Nice, huh?

Thank you for the thoughts, and hope you had a ptomanic Thanksgiving.
I felt like I was back in a freshman American Literature class reading Faulkner.... Sorry about the Homerific Odyssey with your car. Painful and hopefully worth it.

Don-
thanks for confirming you saw the beast, I was beginning to think I had hallucinated.
What Don did not say is that he added several hours to a long drive, swinging by to pick me up, then take me to Dripping Springs on the way to Marble Falls- and the car was not ready. Thanks again!
John- definitely not the same shop, but thanks for the happy thoughts My boys are still talking about buying the Jalapeno....
Dan- Thanks, how is your build (and relocation) coming along?

Donald - Build is progressing. Doc Brown is assembling the lower end of the block, heads and intake are getting sauce. The interior is enjoying a Champagne brunch at the moment. There is a bit remedial body work going on to address some old issues. It is fully primered but mostly just waiting for the drivetrain and interior to be re-installed before the final spray. Making good progress just nothing new vusually to share.

Moving to the San Francisco Bay area in a couple of weeks (Wife has new gig in San Mateo) we will be renting a house in Burligame for awhile. Looking forward to being an active member of the the shark infested NorCal waters.

Donald, the car looks pretty good in the pic you posted...hope it gets done before hell freezes over, which appears to be coming sooner rather than later!

Dan, glad to hear you are making it back to the contiguous 48! You had talked about that at OCIC! Hope mama got a good gig set up for her and the folks on Kauai won't miss her to much, but I am SURE they will! Glad your car is making progress too! I am surprised they want to put the interior in before they shoot the final coat of paint! I am not surprised they would like the drivetrain in though. I agree with that idea.

Both of you studs keep us posted! Happy thoughts in both your directions!

Congrats! Hope it's running/driving good.

We'll celebrate it's homecoming by heading your way in 3 weeks. Are you going to be around on 3/20? The club races at TWS are at the tail end of Spring Break for us, but we're not doing anything major.

Don:
Sounds good, I should be around unless SWMBO finds something expensive to do-
This weekend @ TWS is Corinthian Racing so I will probably be out for that. There are supposed to have several Indy Offenhauser Roadsters out terrorizing the dentists in their Cobras, should be good fun.

Yep, I stuck a Shiner Bock bottle cap under the floor mat- you know how rare they are around here!

Chuck:
The front & hood look great, clutch & shifting smooth- I had front (the one I did crapped out) & rear shifter bushings replaced.
Drives like a bat outta Lubbock!

PS- the front bushing didn't go bad, it was the nylon sleeves on the shifter that I evidently did not get in correctly
