Default 928 Motorsports

I purchased a hood liner from 928 Motorsports and it has started to delaminate, the foil is seperating from the underliner. I gave tthem a call about my problem and was very pleased with thier response. A new liner is on the way to me at no charge. Carl was unsure the source of the defect but replaced it without my asking. Product commitment and customer service at this level are rare in todays business climate, and most appreciated.

If customer service sucks or I consistently am shipped the wrong parts or the quality is bad or shipments are really slow when fast shipment was promised...I shop elsewhere. Like most people, I don't make a big fuss if they want to argue so I just vote with my feet. If they are not being fair, I tell other people of the bad service. If they really try to do the right thing, I tell other people this also....Good for you Heinrich. 928 Motorsports is serious about beating out the competition with their service. I'll pay more money for good and reliable parts or service, if I know the company stands behind them and doesn't try to cover me up with disclaimers and excuses. My pet peeve is the company that says "The part's in stock...it'll ship within two days" and you see it a month later.

The better companies will be will be around a long time.

Personally, I think that we 928 owners are very fortunate in this regard. I have dealt with a few suppliers now and every one of them has been better than any other auto supplier I have ever dealt with, with the exception of Lordco which is comparable. I hope that they all continue to be profitable so that we will continue to have options and competition.

It's easier to get 928 parts than it is 968 parts and the 928 dealers are much more accommodating and knowledgeable it seems to me....but the prices are about the same for some things. However, $260 for a single 968 fog lens assembly seems a bit steep. They don't sell the lens alone.

Hey Harvey!

We have offered you 968 parts, easy as 928 parts if you want stock. I just never heard back from you. We do have a ported 968 head with reground Elgin cams (a touch hotter!) sitting here gathering dust. (why would 968 fog lamps be cheaper than S4's? About the same price.)

When are you going to drop by the shop? We'll gather a group of 928's to greet you.

Dave,

I apologize for forgetting to order 968 parts from Motorsports. I have the mindset that you're a 928 shop. The heads sound really interesting but I checked my cams and they look like they were replaced not long ago...as well as the pads, t-chain, etc. On some of my orders, speed in shipping is important...and when I not in a hurry...price. And in some cases, quality. I'm finding that there are several aftermarket brands of some 968-944 items out there, some of which are not appealing to me. I prefer Porsche OEM when I can get it...but even they are spotty. For example, I ordered new Bosch ignition parts from a Porsche dealer....one part made in Italy, another in England, another in Brazil, and on and on around the world. I've heard of relays being made in Bangladesh.

Harvey even Porsche sources parts from all over the world the Cayenne automatic transmission is made by a Japanese transmission specialist with extensive operations in China. I think it may be good that I have learned to eat with chopsticks.
