Torque Converter- leaking?

Default Torque Converter- leaking?

I changed the S4 auto box fluid on Tuesday, draining both the auto box sump and torque converter, new filter and gasket fitted and new fluid added.
There was no problems before-just a service I wanted to do- however now it's done I'm loosing fluid from the base of the torque converter, the sump bolt washer was replaced with a new one and appears dry and tight, so where is this fluid coming from?- it's a constant drip and when I took the car off the ramps a puddle of around 100-150 mls appeared under the torque converter when back on flat ground.
I've studied the manual and it's a bit vague in this department, it doesn't show how the torque tube oil is refilled from the box, therefore making it hard to understand how an oil leak could occur.
Past threads mention a breather that leaks when the box is overfilled or low on oil but no mention of it's location, could this be a reason for my leak, is the breather above/near the torque converter, the oil appears to come through the grill at the bottom of the torque tube.
One step forward -two steps back!!

Hi algie928s4. If that's all that was done, check the torque converter drain bolt with crush washer. If for some reason you overtightened, it could leak. btdt-twice!

Yeah, I digested the manual last night, symptons suggest drain bolt or primary pump, I replaced original crush washer with new however didn't use locking solution or torque to an accurate spec, no excuses I didn't have a torque wrench that went that low to hand- one purchased now.
As there was no leak before oil change, common sense and a prayer suggests it's an easy fix, do you hear me 928 gods, AN EASY FIX!!!!

Did you use the updated pan gasket (126 271 11 80)? The "11" version superceeds the "10" version - which is prone to leaking, even at the gentle 8 Nm torque value. ATF travels well when warm ....

Garth, to be honest I wouldn't know, I asked for auto box gasket and got one -didn't get technical about it, but the fluid is definetly coming from the torque tube bottom vents.I'll email this post to myself for future reference!
Michael thanks for your reply-I now need to order a new crush washer, when I drain the torque converter will all the 7.3 litres of Dextron come out that sump? and when your sump plug was leaking did it appear dry- did the RPM's actually throw the Dextron onto the side wall casing? It's just that the actual area around the torque convertersump bolt seemed dry.

Your welcome.

You must remove the Plug from the T.C and at the Pan (sump) in order to remove most of the Fluid. Even with the pan off, it still drips for hours, so many cavities and pressure pockets.
While spun the TC did throw quantities of oil around the inside wall casing. My sump wasn't leaking, this mess was initially due to the T.C seal needing to be replaced and of course the T.C was leaking at the plug.
Will you be using any products such as Lucas ?
GoodLuck.-curious what's your technique on the Fluid refill. Anything different?

AWOL-The kids finally passed on one of their virus's on to me, damn those kids are dangerouse!
Lucas I assume is like Loctite over here, lock-tight!, no I never used it, but will be using it when I've recovered well enough, I'm on dodgy ground here, I still feel like **** and if her indoors finds me well enough to play with the car then I'm well enough to babysit, work etc!!!
Re-fill was my mates coception, he has a compressor and he basically pressurised the 5 litre container of Dextron- it took about an hour and a half to fill but we were free to look at other things, I changed the diff oil, engine oil and emptied the radiator as the sump had a slight but annoying leak.
The oil was only under enough pressure to travel up the pipe and dripped into the reservoir- it wasn't under any excess pressure by any means, I did mute it as a cause when I read the manual and it mentioned primary pump seal, but on reflection he's right drip drip doesn't blow a seal.
