lots of 928 for sale in L.A.
I picked up a sportscar trader today at lunch and was shocked at the amount of 928s for sale in the L.A. area. There was a blue on blue 1 owner car with 103k on the clock, I think it was an 84 that was up for 8500. obo. Didnt say whether it was an auto or not. A couple of five speeds and a couple of project cars. I watch cars .com and there havent been very many showing so I was surprised when I saw all of these. Just a heads up in case anyone is looking.

The relatively high miles might be good for a turbo, since you plan on rebuilding the bottom end anyhow.
And that's not a bad price.
It also depends if that car has a good transmission or not.
If you have to rebuild it...

Oh...the bottom end will be rebuilt for sure...I think that car is sold...I think the guy let it go for about $8,000. Want to talk about a bad deal...I watched an 89 out in the bay area sell for $7,100.00 on e-bay...valve collision, heads and all the other parts in boxes in the trunk...and I didn't get one freakin' bid on my twin turbo from Ebay...Automatic is killing the resale for me!

No, I think it's your price. People just don't want to spend that kind of money for an OB (no matter the performance). I think what you've done is great, but it's like putting granite counter tops in a double-wide. No one will pay the extra money.

I agree 100%.
I know the automatic can take 600+HP.
So I would have no problem buying a turbo or SC shark with an automatic.
No problem at all.
But it's the cost that is the issue.
That's why many of us have been trying to get you to work on the s4.
Because a TT s4 may be considered the top of the line s4, and may be
sold for $20-30K. Whereas a top of the line OB will sell for $8-10K.
So if you can get an s4 with a thrashed engine, for very little $,
you can put $10,000 in turbo gear into it, and sell it for $20-30K...
It's a much more cost-effective platform to modify.
