I don't think it's just the belt tracking. They both seemed to be moving. None of the other gears have much belt movement when it's running. I never noticed the old gear wobbling. I just loosened and retorqued both cam bolts. 65Nm=47.94ftlb, right? The little nuts for the spider studs are just snugged + 1/8 turn.

I'll start it up again this afternoon when the 20" fan belt comes in.

I'm jealous of that Euro...

Try swapping the spiders and see what happens?

The bolt, counter hold nut/washer, and gear/sprocket are all wobbling together. That rules out a bent gear/sprocket. Now I have to figure out if it's the spider or cam nose. The edge of the cam gear wobbles about 1-3mm. The driver's side wobbles less than 1mm, barely noticable.

I won't have the time to try disassembling/swapping/reassembling anything until later this week.

Swapped the sprockets and spiders and the same pair still wobbles. I'm going to swap the sprockets back to make sure it's the spider.

When I started the car to see if it still wobbled the guages started working again, but it was only running on 4 cylinders again. I didn't have time to find out why.

edited to add: I grabbed a screw driver and popped the front distributer on my way out... distributer belt #3 is gone! Why does my car keep eating distributer belts??? At $25 a pop, these things are not fun to replace.
