I just wanted to thank everyone for the information. I ended up buying the car and so far so good (knock on wood). I flew from DC to Cleveland for the final inspection and then drove the car home. I'm sure you'll be hearing more from me, and thanks again everyone for all the help.

Ahhh reviving this old thread because… the imbecile at the shop decided to be smart and lifted my S4 from the rails and the front now has a dent in those rails on each side.
my question is how hard is it to bring them back to shape with the least amount of damage to the undercoating? Any recommendations?

pull up the floor mats and remove the plugs in the floor to gain access to the support rails.

I wonder if PDR with the glue hooks can pull those back in shape from underneath without having to pull the chairs and work on pounding the metal from inside...
