Default Interior blues

I asked my mom for a short shifter for my birthday. Being the cool mom that she is, she asked which **** and boot she should order with it.

My interior is standard blue, but I have been thinking about changing the color to a darker blue. 928 Specialists have the Agla **** and boots in cobalt blue (looks kinda gray-greenish in the pic), dark blue, black (of course), and "Anniversary F. Porsche Blue Metallic". The anniversary color sounds interesting, but there is no picture. If you have pictures of a blue interior in one of these colors or even just the boot and ****, can you please post them?

Looking through the registry I discovered a few things. One, I'd really rather have a green car (Want to trade, Rixter?). Two, most people with blue cars are like me and have no idea what color their car really is (mine is L661 Slate blue, but doesn't look as dark and gray as most slate blue pictures I've seen). Three, my interior isn't as much of a hack dye job as I had thought (it's actually the true Porsche blue (code is VA) listed as "(dark) blue" in the registry). Four, it'd be nice if somebody would post the interior color codes like LandsharkOZ has for exterior colors, or at least a list.

What color blue is this interior?

More importantly for now, what color does it match for the shifter boot?

Nicole, Thanks for the color name. I would assume that matches the cobalt blue for the Agla shifter **** and boot. Do you know what the "Anniversary F. Porsche Blue Metallic" looks like?

Rixter, The interior colors in PET5 are different than the interior codes. My interior code is VA, but 1984 seats in blue are KZ3 and a dash is 30B.

I haven't seen that one, sorry...

But if you have an '84, it certainly is not cobalt blue inside - it's the standard blue that Porsche had for years. Why would you want to add a cobalt blue shifter **** and boot in a different shade of blue? It will stand out like a sore thumb - no? I'm a little confused right now...

Most of my interior has to be redone mostly due to PO destruction and partially due to age and heat. Since I don't particularly like the current color (the old stanadard blue) and I have to redo it, I might as well redo it in a color I like. Since I'm getting a new shifter, it should be in the new color instead of the old. I just have to determine what the new color is likely to be. I like the cobalt blue and I think it would go with what I have planned for the seats.

Of course my monitor colors may be off, but the pic above looks like Marine Blue to me... or is Marine Blue what y'all are referring to as "standard blue"?

Are interior colors listed with options on the sticker in the rear hatch area and service book? And if so, which sequence of numbers/letters is it?

And finally, not to hijack the thread, I've been wanting to put a name to my interior color since I got the car:

If you look at the sticker in the rear, it says Exterior/Interior color (or something similar to that). It shows you exterior color "Lxxx" then all the way at the right edge your interior color.

I wrote an email to the webmaster of LandsharkOZ about their colors. He knows that their slate blue picture is off and will replace it when I or somebody else (hint hint) sends him pictures of a slate blue car. He also said he'd host a similar setup for interior colors if somebody does the research for him. Pictures would be nice, but they can be a bit iffy. Just being able to cross reference codes to colors and maybe ever aftermarket colors would be great. If somebody (Nicole maybe?) had some original brocures, this would be a lot easier.

Cobolt blue was a standard colour from 1991 onward, looks like it has a slight purple tinge to it in sunlight, or against a darker colour. Strangely, every cobolt blue interior i've seen has always had cream leather seats - Nicole i think is definitely correct with the colour.

Chadster: Your color is "mahogany".

bfellows: I have seen a horizon blue 928 S4 with all cobalt blue interior. Looked great -- except that the vinyl and leather parts did not face in the same way and had slightly different tones/

Metallic blue leather:

It was made for the 250,000th Jubilee 911 in 1988. It's very 80's. I wonder if SEM makes metallic leather dye...
