Voytek,

If you want good illum. on your 88, you need to either rebuild what you got (fix your reflectors, etc. Just replacing the 3 bulbs won't do it. Been there, tried that) or just install the Jager illum. kit. It did it and it is absolutely awesome!!! If you want pics, let me know and I'll shoot them over. Much too big to post here.

Thanks Chuck,
Yes, would be great to see Your picures. Please e-mail them to me.
Does rotary dim potentiometer under the pod have enough range to control LED brightness?

Thanks.

Has anyone tried replacing bulbs with LEDs inside the switches on the pod?
I wonder if that would be too much light?

Randy,
While you are in there - change all 4 white LCD bulbs. They are on all the time and 1 of mine is dead - just waiting to get in there - I have the parts. The reds should be OK they get virtually no use (I hope for your sake). As Roger says Drive makes sense for same reason, indicators maybe - others probably not worth changing unless they are dead (maybe the tire pressure warning perhaps...?).

I know of at least 4 others with at least 1 dead white (for the amber) LCD illumination issue - not uncommon.

LED's will not be damaged if you put them in reverse - but you will have to test them out.... You will need LED's with series resistance designed for 12v operaton

Good advice, Alan.

I've not been able to find the proper style of instrument cluster bulbs in the LED variant, so will order OEM. Jim Bailey tells me he can get them.
