Default Horn doesn't work on a 928

I have a 1989 Porsche 928 and the horn doesn't work. The fuse looks good. The rear wiper works and I think its on the same fuse? When I press the horn I can hear a clicking sound from the fuse panel. Any experience with this and any suggestions?

Probably your horn relay. Check out the Fuse/Relay chart at www.928gt.com and swap your horn relay with another with the same part # (like your defroster) and see if it works.

The horns themselves wear out. I'd check for voltage at the horns as a test. They're in front of the right-side front wheel. Have an assistant key the horn while you check with a voltmeter. (Or vice-versa!)

In replacing a steering wheel, horn did not work- checked fuse, relay, and since horn worked with old ( and tattered) wheel, not likely horn. Cleaned the contacts for horn under wheel, bridged contacts with knife blade and viola !
it worked. Had to bend horn copper contact and horn button works.

Bruce, did you remove the wheel lately? If so make sure horn pad is fully seated. There are two "snaps" in the process IIRC. You have to make sure it is on the second "snap".

Thanks for all of the replys. Is there a trick to removing the relays? I pulled on the relay put it won't come out? Is there something to unlock or do they just pull out?

The one reply mentioned the horns were in the right front tire area. Is the right side the drivers for passengers side? I assume I need to unbold a cover the the driver fender well?

The "right" side is the side to the right when you're sitting in the car.

No lock, they just pull out. But it helps to have something to pry underneath them with. I use a little right-angle screwdriver:
