bilsteins/eibach update !!
back from two days at the glen with metro pca--what a great time !!
first time on the track with my new suspension and ride height adjustment with wheel alignment - have to say i was impressed. i would definetly recommend it over stock...handled much better than stock - before with my old suspension i would be afraid of going more than 100 mph car b/c the car felt too loose. Now no problemm -much more confidence...blowing past alot of cars.. my one tip is not to lower the car too much with this setup - probably would stay 1-2 inches lower than stock.

Thanks for the update.
It looks like you have your tow-hook in. This is the second car I have seen in the last few weeks with this. Maybe I haven't noticed these things much before... Is it in just in case - so that if you have to get towed back onto the track they have somewhere to hook you up?
On my stock suspension, I am not afraid to go over 100 mph... I do have a fear 'tho. I am afraid that if I go too much more I will cook my brakes by braking harder at the end of the straights.
Do you mean that your confidence on turns and transitions is higher? Now that I think about it, one straight that I take has a bit of a kink in it which is nerve racking to take above 100 so I usually lift. This must be what you can slam through now, eh?
Did you notice any difference in slower, more technical parts of the track?
Thanks.

Get ATE Blue fluid and some good pads. Don't worry, you're not catching enough speed at Watkins to cook the brakes, and if you do, there's a lot of run-off room at the two straights. I have Hawk HP+ pads in front I can stand on them at 400 ft to the turn and still have lots left over. I hit about 125 on the back straight Monday/Tuesday. Got about 110 on the front straight slam the brakes at 250 ft for turn one. Through the Bustop at 65-70.
What kind of speeds did you get?
i think only 2-3 cars passed me in the two days. and one was my friend in his '02 Carrera.

Actually, I haven't been to Watkins yet.
Since moving from CA to NC, the most likely tracks to go to in the next couple years are VIR, Road Atlanta, CMP, Roebling Road, as they are within my geographic reach.
I have only barely broken 110. I am still pretty green... experience wise, not nausea-wise! I haven't been to any super-fast tracks yet and am not in any particular hurry to get there I guess.
The thing that gets me on brake fade is the lack of a complete cool down lap. At the last event, I would see the checkered flag at the last 1/3 of the lap - which doesn't offer much cooling down and the brakes start getting soft when pulling into the pits. I think I will try some track only pads as you suggested. What I really need are 17" wheels with good ventilation, and a bigger budget. : )
v-tach: Is VIR within range for you? It would be great to have a couple of 86.5s running together.
Peace.
