1/4 mile runns in a sc gt shark
Yesterday took my blown gt to the 1/4 mile drags at bandermire raceway outside of Denver. The altitude was just under 6000 ft.The temp was about 73 degrees f and I was running 18x 10 carrera lightweights all around with 285 30 rear and 255 35 front. My first run was against a 2003 mach 1 He ran a 15.94 at 90 mph.I ran a 13.56 at 106 mph. Boost was slipping from a high of 6.5 lbs to about 4 lbs at the traps.Damn belt slip!Figured I could tighten the belt and run a full 8 lbs and run maybe a 13.30 at around 109. Ran out to get some tools and arrived just in time to stage and go. The car was running around 190-200 degrees at the tree.I was running a 2004 z06.The launch was good with just a small amount of tire spin and I pulled the z06 from 2nd gear on .The car was just pulling and pulling and I was in the middle of 4th gear at the traps. I knew the run was strong by the way I left the corvette.I was blown away to see that I had run a 12.96 at 113 mph.The z06 ran a 13.54 at 105 mph.My last run was the first round of eliminations and I spun the tires and and the belt slipped again and boost was down. The run was a disaster and I was put on the trailer.I was killed in eliminations but not before I had run a 12.96 at 113 mph! The fastest z06 was the one that I ran on my 2nd run with a 13.54 and the only viper there ran a 13.31 at 109 mph. My corrected time according to NHRA guidlines was a 12.18 at 119 mph. good fun.

12.12 sec. …..Impressive times. To eliminate the belt slippage, try to use a stiffer one. I’ve noticed the generic brand belts (i.e. NAPA) tend to be on the soft side and with the extreme tightness an SC requires makes them stretch easily. I’m ¾ way though with my SC install and I’m trying to find a belt manufacturer that makes HD 6 grooved belts.

WTG Tom! 12.9 is quick and with a correction of 12.18 is very good.
Did you get your IC sorted out?
IIRC you had 517RWHP without the IC?
Seems that you would make over 550rwhp with the IC.
My best actual time was 12.435/112.9 sec at sea level with 8.5 psi. This is with my 87 S4 automatic. I think I'll break well into the 11s before the end of the summer.

Thanks all. I am running a modified gmc cyclone air to water intercooler with a b&m transcooler in front of my radiator to cool the water/antifreeze mixture. The intercooler was modified by cutting off the 2 inch inlet and attaching a 3 inch in its place.then removing the factory anodizing and polishing it out. It fits perfectly and is very efficient. The power increase is amazing and it felt when I was in 3rd and 4th gears the clutch was slipping but it wasnt. It was just accelarating like crazy.I cant believe how well these cars respond to supercharging. I think 600 rwhp is safely attainable . Good luck with those 11 second time slips.I bet you will get those in short order. I am looking for a belt that wont slip and I think 9-10 psi is safe with intercooling.

good idea!I think that it would be easier on the blower because you would not have to tighten the belt so much.I have also seen a pulley that had been modified with 12 groves that were cut at a 90 degree angle to the original groves. This might help.
