Default Tuning Timing on the Dual Distributor Euro S and other ignition questions

How is it done? Where do I look? I have the manuals on CD, but most of the information seems to relate to the US models only. Am I just missing pages?

Also, what is the honest to goodness difference between the single distributor 16v and dual distributor 16v wiresets (besides about $50)? Is it just the second coil wire?

Anything wrong with going up one heat level in the Euro S? As I recall the spec is for WR7DC, up one should be WR8DC (or P). The computer I was using lists the WR8DC/P plug as spec for '85, does that mean Euros too? Any harm/help going up to the WR9D variety?

Last but not least. Any opinions on the Bosch Platinum 2s? Not looking for tangible gains, just consistent and long lasting performance.

Hi Tim,
The timing of the distributors is well described on page 28-47 in Vol 1A. Do you have that page ?

Regards

Some of the plug wires are longer plus second coil wire. There are NO adjustments to the ignition timing zip zero nada. The timing is in the ignition brain which also has a vacuum hose line for the advance function and that moving part sometimes fails.....

John- I've got the pages printed out in front of me right now. Thanks for the offer though. I must have just missed them while looking around at 1am.

Jim- Thanks for the info. I have a set of warrantied wires on my '81 that could be turned in for new ones. I'll test fit them unless you think they are too short for the Euro. If so, I recall that you had made me an offer I couldn't refuse, is it still good?

Any input on the plugs? At the very least they ought to be refreshed.
