Default Glove box switch

While removing my frozen heater blower motor, I found a push pull switch in my glove box. It appears to be oem,and is mounted on the right side of the glove box. Anyone know what the switch is for? Its in an 81 Euro S.

That's what it is in the '87. I pulled my glove box out to fix the antenna and had to disconnect the light (after blowing the fuse because I forgot to disconnect the battery ).

No, its not the glove light switch. It has a black plastic **** that you pull and it klicks into place in the extended position.

It doesn't look aftermarket either. The wires and connectors look original. I was wondering if its unique to early Euros.

My guess is that it is part of an after-market alarm system.

Agreed. I found a very nice stealthy alarm switch location that, even looking right at the inside of the box you cannot see. Stealthy.
