Update. Dash was ready last week. They said FedEx just picked up today. Sounds like somebody dropped the ball on getting it out. But anyway, It will be here by Friday. I'll have the pics up ASAP.

Well the dash finally arrived. FedEx was sending it somewhere to points unknown Friday when I called them to see why it was leaving Memphis. I live about 5 miles from their hub. They said sorry, we'll get it back to you Tuesday. I was going to install it over the weekend, but oh well.

The dash looks really good. It has a good dye job and matches the interior well. Grain looks the same. Overall they did a good job and well worth the money. The big question is will it fit. We've all heard about Just Dashes dashes not fitting. I see no reason behind this or no reason why this one wouldn't fit. The only blemishes I see on it are in the two cornors on the bottom. It's not seen once it is install. But here are the pictures. You can let me know if you all want me to post something that's not shown.

Bill,
It certainly looks great. Do you know whether they replaced the surface vinyl, or filled the cracks and re-finished the surface (re-dyed, which is actually a re-paint). I had a pod repaired by filling & re-dying once here in PA. Looked great until it went through a full season of heat/cold. The cracks opened up again in the cold weather. Hope your's won't do that. Please keep us advised over the next year.
Best wishes,

Gary they did replace the vinyl and the thin pad under it. It should last as long as the factory one, I hope.

I'd actually be hoping it lasts *longer* than the factory dash...

The dash was black and had a few minor cracks in the cornors and on the vents. Otherwise it was in pretty good shape just a little fading here and there.

Yes, I will hope it last longer.

Update. Put dash and new chips in today. Dash fit perfectly. It looks great. This is the first time the shark has had a complete, whole, non-cracked dash since '89. Best money I've spent so far on her. Anybody thinking about it, I recommend sending it to them. Even with shipping it's still cheaper than "Just Dashes" and well worth it.

Jim, get Dan the pod guy to do it. He does great work. I posted a thread showing his work on my pod and he is very reasonable.

Will post pictures of it and let everyone know cost and if it will fit back into the car.

GUYS, The guy that did dashboard restorations in Australia is in the US now. I just spoke with Leonard Zach about this two days ago. In fact, I just drop a dash off at his house about two weeks ago, he now lives in Vancouver, WA. This may be company that lost my irreplaceable 6.9 dashboard a few years back. Caveat emptor, and ensure adequate insurance.

(edit: it was the Australian company, dashboardrestorations.co.au, not the U.S. company, that I dealt with.)
