Window tint

Joe, hopefully you donated to a program that was designed to save lives of the men and women who put their lives on the line everyday and not pull your support because you were inconvienced for tint. I realize some people have no people skills in law enforcement, I have been an officer for 6 yrs and I know some people are badge heavy, but think about what you are supporting and take that into consideration. Saving lives is more important than a dark windows.

He would have definitley told me to roll them up. THe funny thing was that I just got off the highway and I was sweating bullets and I told him they were down because I was hot not to "HIDE" them. The stupid *** didn't believe me and I even had a towel around my neck.
Tony, this guy was such a dick he would have given me the ticket anyway and told me I had to prove.

I had my back windows tinted at Ziebart just before we went to Glacier in 2003. Cost for 21 % Premium tint with GST was $ 299.55
On the phone they told me they would not tint windows older than 5 years. I told them I was coming down anyway. After looking the car over they decided the car was in good shape and would tint them. Took about 1/2 a day and looks great.
You should make an appointment for the same time you come down To SHOW ME THE NEW WHEELS! ( and help with the clutch adjustment ???)

Find another tinter.
Derek,
There are films that are metal and dye, like what I used on my car. I have not noticed any decrease in performance from my radar detector or radar jammer... both are still very very effective even with tint!

Window tint
Hello all,
I have the original stickers on my 93 GTS on the rear quarter windows that I do not want to disrupt. Has anyone tinted around there stickers and if so, how does it look ? Lastly, any tips on good "tinters" in the Boston area. I'd like to preserve the interior from sun damage.
Thanks,
Gary

Hey, Gary - yes, I had my tint guy place the film over the existing window stickers. Before tinting, I removed the '5 mph bumper' sticker and the 'Unleaded fuel' sticker - they were both fading and peeling. I left the 'Porsche Antitheft Alarm' stickers on both quarter windows. Looks real good and also gives the tint a 'factory original' appearance.

Window tint
Hey Randy,
Thanks for the info. All of the stickers are in great condition as is. My major concern is ruining them in the future should the tint need to be replaced some years down the road. Now that you mention it, I suspect it does make the tint job look OEM. Man, I'm in dilemma.
Anyone else out there in the Boston area have any recommendations regarding tint shops ?
Thanks,
Gary

Rich, I went to the West-end Ziebart an they said that doing "those windows" would take all day and end up looking bad. They "wouldn't touch them".
I'll be in YYC next week-end.... you want a hand on Saturday?

Mine will be tinted tomorrow. The quote of $170 was for the BMW the other rennlister had done, the 928 is in line with everyone elses here. $249 for the sides, 6" on the windshield and a single big piece for the hatch window (so much for $GA). Can't wait!!
