You know, I lost the tail on my favourite corner, taking a 90deg Right-Hander that I know VERY WELL . Now I know why.

Friend of mine got a GMC Sonoma at work from the motor pool...It had been in an accident, but fixed up very well they said. Hmmm..it rides very hard, and it has very poor grip on the road!! After several scares due to lack of brakes and grip, he checked the tyres...50psi!! Bring it back to normal, much better behaved. Seems 50 was put in while in transit from South America or Mexico to stop the tyres getting flat spots.

These cars seem very sensitive to changes in pressure. I typically run 34-36 psi in my cars. At 34, the 928's tail was getting too freakydeeky accelerating around corners. 32.5 put a stop to that. I was surprised at what a difference 1.5 psi made.

hmmmmmmmmm thinkin I need to drop my psi back down some from the max shown on the tires, especially since I now have the 6x16 C-2 Five spoke wheels on the front! Any help with keeping the rubber on the road is needed! Hoping to also get the larger front sway bar that 928 International has come out with once they have the stronger bracket available too since that is supposed to help with understeer!

I had an entertaining conversation with a coworker who owns a Viper...he said "I pumped up the tires to spec" I asked him what spec was (wanting to compare to my spec pressure)...he said 51psi for all 4 tires...then he started complaining about how the car rides much worse than before...I ask him where he got the 51psi....answer....from the sidewall.....so I tell him to check the owners manual, he does and drops the tires to the correct 29 psi! I guess he always inflates his tires to the sidewall max? Didn't know any different?

I had the oil changed on my Rodeo at a jiffy lube a while back. I remember the guy telling the girl that was airing the tires 32 lbs. Well, she added 32 to what was already in there. I noticed the rough ride and checked them when I got home. I wonder how many people were driving around on baloon tires.

That's why engineers at least double the rated load?!

I had a Fiero GT for a time ('Honey Bunny' calls it the 'Fiasco'). After a few days of ownership, and then doing a 180 on a freeway onramp, I checked the tire pressures. They were all over the map! Doh!

I liked that car, actually. I still sneak dirty glances at nice ones when they drive by.

correct tire pressures are one of the most neglected items on all cars. It has a huge impact on performance, tire wear, safety, fuel economy yet remains so overlooked that the government will REQUIRE low tire pressure warning systems on all new cars. Which reminds me I need to check the pressures on the BMW !

Maybe he meant he did a 180, as in degrees of rotation!

Is he supposed to give it back to me? If so, why?
