Default Throttle End Popped off

I was out test driving the new H4 headlights tonight to make sure I was not blinding anybody and the throttle end popped off. I opened hood and found the retaining clip had broken off. Anybody have any ideas on what to use to keep it on? What gauge wire I could sub for it or do the big three carry this?

Thanks,
Bill

Bill...........as a temporary fix you could use stainless steel safety wire.

Assuming you have cruise control and can do without it until you get a new clip you could 'borrow' the CC cable clip and use in on the throttle cable.

Thanks Malcolm I already borrowed it. I think I found the clip at 928 Specialists, I believe they call it a Ball Cap Clip. The part number I think is 900 169 014 02. If somebody knows it for sure I'd be greatful.

OK update, there is no clip. I borrowed the CC clip went to put it on and no hole for clip like the other ball sockets. I took off end and the clip is a ring on the inside of the ball that fits in a groove. It's pretty worn looking. So if anybody has any ideas let me know or it looks like I'm calling around tomorrow.

Here's a photo of the temp fix that got the shark home, after mine broke. Didn't drive the car till a new throttle cable was installed.
