Glad you fixed it. Just to add another mistery alarm issue to the list: I sometimes get a no start (cranks but no start) but when I open the drivers side door, it start right away...
Any ideas?

On my 1990 RHD s4 can someone please let me know where I can find my alarm control unit 92863710403? I located the alarm relay 92863716000 and replaced that, that seemed to fixtheproblem, so I didn't look for the control unit before putting it all back together.

Now I think the original intermittent no start problem has returned so am keen to know where the control module is before starting to pull things apart to find it.

Thanks in advance,

Dave

Dave, on my 89 its in the dead space behind (to the left of) the glovebox in the front left corner of the cabin. Not sure whether that's the same as your car, as a few other control units moved around in 1990.

Dave,
on my RHD '90 it is in the same general location as Hilton mentions (behind the glovebox).

Thanks Hilton, Myles, Jon,

That's where I'll begin my fishing expedition then.

If anyone's got a spare 928 637 104 03 control module that I can borrow or buy pls let me know.

Cheers,
Dave

Dave -

If it's above the glove box on a LHD car I may have one. I'll let you know in a few minutes.

Nope. I have a 928.645.173.01. Looks like it's wired into the pod also, wouldn't be easy to get out in one piece.

UPDATE: That's an antenna amplifier anyway. I don't see anything else that looks like it could be your part.

No, that's the fan control box.

It is behind/up from the glove box, looks like this.

The first year I got my car, I had enough problems (for one reason or another) trying to start it with the actual key - I'd like to see a thief try and get it running without one.

I had to do the Sam thing to get mine to start. Until about a month ago. My car is completely shut down and won't start. Any idea how to disable the alarm system? I found where its at already but do I just take the box out or what and if it doesn't start after I disable it what should I check? And should I get a new alarm system? I need to get this baby running again..its killing me just letting her sit in the driveway loll.

What year?

You have to run a jumper wire across two pins in the plugs just below the CE panel

Which two pins is dependent on the year of the car.

Jumping the wrong pins for a given year is a bad idea. It lets all the smoke out of some of the wiring and a couple components. It's pretty expensive to put that smoke back in.

Got to love old threads. I have been chasing this ghost for 2 years off and on. Finally chased it to here and I think I am good to go. I have thought that before, but we will keep our fingers crossed

Does anyone know what each wire does on the factory alarm connector? i have a 87 s4 U.S model. the alarm has long since be removed and bypassed. i know pins 1 and 4 feeds the EZK relay with power. what do the other pins do? IE which ones control door locks, horn, lights, door open inputs,? im installing a key-less entry with push button/remote start. think most of my connections should be at the connector already. srry i could not read nor understand the schematic in the above post.

Example of what im looking for would be as follows

pin1. +12v to energize EZK
pin2.?
pin3.?
pin4. EZK 12v energizing input needs to be fed from Pin1.
pin5.?
pin6.?
pin7.?
pin8.?
pin9.?
pin10.?
